Brooke Burke was born on September 8, 1971, to Donna and George Burke. She attended Palo Verde High School, where she was crowned homecoming queen in 1989, and later studied broadcast journalism at UCLA. She was married in 2001 to plastic surgeon Garth Fisher. They had two daughters, Nerria and Sierrah Sky. The couple finalised their divorce in 2006. Burke was then engaged to actor David Charvet. They married on August 12, 2011, and have a daughter called Heaven Rain and a son called Shaya Braven.
During her early modelling career, Burke first appeared nude for the website BlueNudes, but was not yet discovered until May 2001, where she appeared in a Playboy magazine. She also appeared in the November 2004 issue, and later was featured in men's magazines such as Maxim, Stuff and FHM. In 2007, Burke was listed as one of the hottest women of film and television.
In 2005 and 2006, Brooke was the host for the CBS reality show "Rock Star", in which young singers performed for a rock band. She was also the voice and face of "Rachel Teller" in the video game, Need For Speed: Underground 2. She was also in a number of infomercials and commercials, including Burger King, Discover Card, Coca-Cola, Anheuser-Busch, M Professional Cosmetics, Skechers, and the infomercial for a Swiss Ball, which was screened across Australia and New Zealand.
In 2007, Burke started a company called "Baboosh Baby", which is a company that offers wraps for pregnant women. She also has a blog which talks about her and her children.
In 2009, Brooke hosted NBC's pre-show for the 66th Annual Golden Globe awards alongside Tiki Barber and Nancy O'Dell. Partnered with Derek Hough, she won season 7 of "Dancing With The Stars," and later went on to co-host the show, replacing Samantha Harris. Burke began hosting season 10 of the television show with Tom Bergeron. In August, 2010, she hosted the third season of the TV Land series, "She's Got The Look," which was a modelling competition for women aged over 35. In 2011, she co-hosted the Miss America 2011 pageant with Chris Harrison.
Burke's first book, The Naked Mom: A Modern Mom's Fearless Revelations, Savvy Advice, and Soulful Reflections, was published February 1, 2011 by New American Library, and contains her reflections on motherhood, Hollywood, romance, and the challenges of having a blended family.
